The main goal of the "Indestructible Brotherhood-2020" training is to improve the knowledge, skills and abilities of the military personnel who are part of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces. The issues of organizing, preparing and conducting a peacekeeping operation in one of the collective security regions will be worked out. The training will become a strategic deterrence measure within the difficult situation that is developing in the world.
The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas said in an interview at RT TV channel that the CSTO preferred to ensure collective security by political means. He spoke about the current tasks and the future of the CSTO. In the context of current events in the Republic of Belarus, Nagorno-Karabakh and the Kyrgyz Republic, the Secretary General explained cases the CSTO response mechanism is launched and what kind of assistance is ready to be provided at the current moment. He noted that apart from wars, terrorism, illegal drug trafficking and irregular migration are constituting a significant threat now. Stanislav Zas also assessed the growth of national sentiments in the member states of the Organization and emphasised the importance of expanding the "belt of good-neighborliness", as other states in the status of Partner or Observer
