From 1 to 23 April 2024, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hosted the regular IX Training Courses of the CSTO member states for senior staff and leading specialists of defense departments, law enforcement agencies, security council apparatuses, security agencies and special services, as well as bodies authorized to prevent and eliminate emergency situations.

On 22 April 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a working meeting between the Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Samat Ordabaev, and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kakha Imnadze.

Military contingents of the CSTO member States participate in the active phase of the “East-2022” training

The active phase of the "East-2022" strategic command post training with the participation of military contingents from the CSTO member States is under way at the Sergeevskiy training range in Primorsky Krai. In the course of the training, defensive and offensive operations are being practiced.

According to the commander of the coalition grouping of troops (forces) Vladimir Omeljanovich, "the main feature of the “East-2022” strategic command post training is the creation of a coalition grouping of troops (forces), which is designed to prepare and conduct a joint special operation to ensure peace and security.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin observed the training.

The "East-2022" strategic command post training is held from 1 to 7 September 2022 under the charge of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with practical training of defensive and offensive actions at seven training ranges of the East Military District: Burduny, Goryachi Klyuchi, Knyaze-Volkonsky, Lagunnoye, Sergeevsky, Telemba, and Uspenovsky, as well as in the water areas and coastal zones of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan.

More than 50,000 servicemen, more than 5,000 units of armament and military equipment, including 140 aircraft, 60 warships, boats and support vessels are involved in the "East-2022" strategic command post training.
