The active phase of the joint training “Rubezh-2024” with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) began today in Tajikistan at the Harbmaidon training range. The theme of the training is “Preparation and conduct of combat operations by the CRDF CAR to destroy illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state”.
Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, Lieutenant General Hasan Kaloev, First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, representatives of the armed forces of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and invited officials took part in the opening ceremony of the training.
Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda,Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, performing in front of the participants of the training, said in particular that “the issues of CSTO response to crisis situations, taking into account the trends in the development of the situation and the resulting challenges and threats to regional security have always been on the cutting edge of our attention.”
“An important role in ensuring security in the Central Asian region is played by the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces, which are called upon to fulfill the tasks of jointly repelling external military aggression, countering other challenges and threats to security, and conducting anti-terrorist operations. This issue is of the greatest interest to Tajikistan, which is located at the outpost of the CSTO's southern borders. In recent years, a number of joint trainings have been conducted on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan with all the main components of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces). Such large-scale trainings are dictated by the dynamically developing situation in various regions of the world, which emphasizes the need to unite the efforts of our countries in confronting modern challenges and threats,” Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda said.
During his speech at the opening ceremony of the joint training “Rubezh-2024” First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Khasan Kaloev, said: “Established in 2001 against the backdrop of the growing international terrorist threat, the Collective Rapid Deployment Force of the Central Asian region is one of the main components of the CSTO's collective security system. The national contingents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan include military units and units of permanent readiness equipped with modern weapons systems and military equipment. The main tasks of the CRDF CAR are readiness to repel external military aggression and to counter terrorist challenges, timely response to threats to national and regional security”.
He also noted that “at the range ‘Harbmaydon’ in the conditions of mountainous and desert terrain you will have to practice a set of training and combat tasks on preparation and conduct of combat operations to eliminate illegal armed groups, liberation of captured objects, landing of tactical airborne troops, as well as on combat and special operations to restore the state border section, actively using artillery, assault and army aviation.”
Lieutenant General Khasan Kaloev also wished the participants of the training to demonstrate their best qualities - high professionalism, coherence in work, mutual assistance and mutual support, and to confirm readiness for joint actions to ensure collective security of our states in a single combat formation!
From October 17 to 21, the active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Rubezh-2024” is being held at the “Harbmaidon” training ground under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General Abdullozoda Saidasror Said.
During the training, issues related to the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state are being practised.
At present, the CRDF CAR is practising issues related to the organization of combat operations in mountainous and desert terrain, the alignment of units and their preparation for the performance of combat training tasks.
Particular attention is being paid to the organization of air defence cover for the units of the CRDF CAR during operational deployment, as well as to the interaction of the CRDF CAR Command with the air defence forces and assets of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 201st military base of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during the preparation and conduct of combat operations.
Military contingents from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and operational groups of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat are taking part in the joint training "Rubezh-2024" at the Harbmaidon training range. The Russian contingent is made up of servicemen from the Central Military District from the 201st military base. The total number of participants in the exercise is about 1,500 people and 250 units of military and special equipment, including airplanes, helicopters and UAVs.
