On May 25, 2026, a meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, and Acting Director of the African Union Counter-Terrorism Centre Idriss Mounir Lallali.
The parties exchanged assessments of challenges and threats both within the Organization’s area of responsibility and on the African continent.
Taking into account previously reached agreements on establishing closer cooperation, a Framework Cooperation Document between the CSTO Secretariat and the African Union Counter-Terrorism Centre was signed during the meeting. The document was signed on behalf of the CSTO Secretariat by Valery Semerikov and on behalf of the African Union Counter-Terrorism Centre by Idriss Mounir Lallali.
