The 12th Southern Information Security Forum “Infoforum Sochi 2026” is taking place in Sochi, Russia, from June 30 to July 3. On July 1, the Forum's plenary session brought together representatives of federal and regional authorities, regulatory bodies, leading companies, and international organizations to discuss current challenges in the protection of critical infrastructure, the development of artificial intelligence, and international cooperation.

On May 26 of this year, a round table entitled “35 Years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Tasks, and Prospects” was held at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by heads of integration structures in the post-Soviet space, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of the embassies of CIS countries in Russia. Opening remarks were delivered by the moderator, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin.
In his speech, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev spoke about the stages of the CIS evolution and its future prospects, as well as the establishment of mechanisms for cooperation across a broad range of issues — from politics and security to the economy, culture, and humanitarian ties.
Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General S.I. Ordabayev informed participants about cooperation with the CIS and the SCO aimed at strengthening peace and security in the Eurasian space. Particular attention was paid to the positive outcomes of the visit of the CSTO Secretariat delegation to the OSCE headquarters.
The participants in the discussion noted that the Commonwealth has proven its viability and remains a unique and востребованная platform for continuous constructive interaction among CIS countries.
