On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

Issues of improving air defense and developing the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces were discussed 21.05.2026

On May 20, consultations of representatives (experts) of the defense agencies of the CSTO member states aimed at improving air defense and developing the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff headquarters.

The consultations were chaired by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov and attended by authorized representatives of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The participants discussed current issues related to improving air defense for the protection of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) during joint military operations and the development of the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces. They also agreed on draft relevant documents being developed within the framework of implementing the Organization’s priority activities during the chairmanship of the Russian Federation in 2026.
