On May 19, 2025 in Bishkek, under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was held, during which the Secretary General of the Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov made a report on the theme: “On the implementation of decisions (November 2024) session of the CSTO SCS and measures taken to counter challenges and threats to collective security”.
On May 12, 2025, in Moscow, in the Red Banner Hall of the Frunze Central House of the Russian Army, a solemn event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty (May 15, 1992) was held.
Delegation of the CSTO Secretariat headed by the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization will take part in the 13th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues.
On May 13, 2025, the 41st meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Ministerial Council was held with the participation of CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev. The event was also attended by delegations of the Organization's member states and representatives of the UNOCT, the UNRCCA, the CIS ATC, the CIS Coordination Service of the CIS Council of Commanders of Border Troops and the ICRC.
The CSTO Secretariat hosted a round table on “Interreligious Dialogue as a Way to Strengthen Collective Security”
On November 13, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a roundtable discussion on “Interreligious Dialogue as a Way to Strengthen Collective Security” on the occasion of the Information and Press Day of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event was attended by representatives of the media, religious communities and leading analytical centers in Kyrgyzstan and Russia, including the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, the Academy of Management of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the All-Russian Institute for Advanced Training of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Center for Socially Conservative Policy.
Head of the Information and Public Relations Division of the CSTO Secretariat Yuri Shuvalov informed about the Organization's activities aimed at countering challenges and threats to security, including in terms of analytical and forecasting work, and also noted the extreme importance of participation of representatives of religious associations in socio-political processes.
The participants of the round table thoroughly discussed the issues of interreligious relations, interaction of religious organizations with society and the media in the Eurasian space.
Support was expressed for the initiative of the Mufti of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia Albir Krganov on the need to create a platform for interreligious dialog to strengthen social harmony and development.
