On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

A working meeting of the main operational departments of the general staffs of the armed forces of the CSTO member states was held in Kyrgyzstan 30.08.2019

On August 28 and 29, a group of officers headed by the First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Hasan Kaloev, took part in the working meeting of the chiefs of the main operational departments of the general staffs of the armed forces of the CSTO member states, which was held in the village of Chok-Tal Issyk -Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting the challenges and threats to military security in the Central Asian region, plans for the development of military cooperation between the member states of the Organization for the medium term, as well as ways to improve the components of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) were discussed.
