The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told RIA Novosti, commenting on the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” that terrorism was used in hybrid warfare, provoked inter-ethnic and inter-religious discord, so the CSTO member states needed tools to counter this phenomenon.
In the period from 12 to 13 March 2024, in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a strategic command and staff training is being conducted under the supervision of Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff, during which issues related to stabilizing the situation in the Central Asian region of collective security in the context of the growing threat of a crisis situation are being worked out.

On 11 March 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a round table on "Cooperation in the Information and Analytical Sphere to Ensure Collective Security" on the occasion of the Tajik Press Day. The event was attended by the Head of the Department for the Study of Regional Security Problems of the Strategic Research Centre under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sayhamid Sharifzoda, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO, Khasan Sultonov, and representatives of the Tajik media.

On August 2-5, this year, in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, in accordance with the Plan of joint training of the forces and means of the CSTO collective security system, a tactical and special training with the formations of special forces included in the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CSTO CRRF formations of special forces) will take place.
During the training, combined groups of special forces of the Organization’s member States will perform training and applied operational and combat tasks of searching, blocking and neutralizing gangs, terrorist groups, as well as closing drug smuggling channels and detecting caches, laboratories for the storage and production of narcotic substances and their destruction. Subunits of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will practice the tasks of elimination of consequences arisen during the anti-terrorist operation.
The training plan calls for a command and staff training with the Operational Staff of the CSTO Collective Rapid Deployment Forces formations of special forces on planning a special operation and organizing interaction and management of dissimilar forces and equipment.
At the end of the training, there will be shooting competitions using various types of weapons among the teams participating in the training.
