In Yerevan, staff negotiations on preparation for the CSTO training "Thunder-2021" with special forces were held
03.06.2021On 1 to 3 June, this year, in Yerevan, the Republic of Armenia, staff negotiations on the preparation of a special training with the formations of special forces of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, code-named "Thunder-2021", were held. The event took place in accordance with the Plan for joint training of the command and control bodies and formations of the assets of the CSTO collective security system for 2021.
The negotiations were attended by representatives of the Police and other interested ministries and agencies of the Republic of Armenia, Internal Troops of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, the Interior Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Interior Ministry of Russia, the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the CSTO Secretariat.
In the course of the staff negotiations, the following were considered and agreed upon:
- the basics of the concept and the procedure for conducting the training;
- the composition of the training leadership and the national contingents of CSTO member states involved in the training, the timing and procedure for their arrival in the training area;
- the procedure for the deployment and composition of the Operational Headquarters of the CSTO CRRF formations of special forces for a joint special operation, as well as issues of comprehensive support for the training.
In the course of the training, which is planned to be held in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, practical actions of the CSTO CRRF formations of special forces will be practiced in two stages with the use of armored vehicles, special purpose truck, aviation, strike drones and search dogs.
The parties have signed the relevant protocol.
