The Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov received the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states and the Secretary General of the Organization in Cholpon-Ata on June 30. The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
On June 30, 2025, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Cholpon-Ata (the Kyrgyz Republic) under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, which was attended by the Organization's Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
Safar Umarzoda, Head of the Department for Countering Challenges and Threats of the CSTO Secretariat, took part in a special event (side-event) on "Countering Radicalization leading to terrorism and Extremism" organized by the Russian Federation on the margins of the OSCE Annual Conference on Security Review, where he reported on the measures taken by the CSTO on countering terrorism and extremism, and willingness to share the experience gained.
On June 19, 2025, in Bosteri, Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic, the XIX meeting of the Council of the Advisory Coordination Center of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on Computer Incident Response (CSTO CCC) was held, which was attended by delegations of representatives of national authorized bodies for responding to computer incidents of the CSTO member states.
On June 24-26, the second staff negotiations were held in the Kyrgyz Republic on the organization and conduct an operational meeting with the Command of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CAR CRDF) and a command and staff training with units of the CAR CRDF "Rubezh-2025", conducted as part of the joint operational and strategic training "Combat Brotherhood-2025".
The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov had a meeting with the Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon in Dushanbe
11.04.2025On April 11, 2025, in Dushanbe, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.
A detailed discussion was held on the situation in the Organization's area of responsibility. Imangali Tasmagambetov briefed the Head of State on preparations for the forthcoming meetings of the CSTO's statutory bodies.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of the first stage of the CSTO Special Interstate Policy for strengthening sections of the Tajik-Afghan Border.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov noted the constructive and interested approach of the member states to the implementation of the agreements reached and emphasized the importance of close interaction between the parties at all stages of joint work.
Reference: The Collective Security Treaty Organization's Special Interstate Policy for strengthening sections of the Tajik-Afghan Border has been developed in accordance with the Decision of the CSTO CSC of 23 September 2013 “On Assistance to the Republic of Tajikistan on Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border” and approved by the CSTO CSC Decision on 28 November 2024.
The program determines that its implementation will take place in stages.
At the first stage (2025), the customer-coordinator (Tajik side) through the national state customers determines the capabilities of the CSTO member states to produce weapons, military equipment and technical means of border protection in the Republic of Tajikistan. Then sources of funding are identified and contracts for delivery are concluded.
In the second stage (2026-2027), the practical implementation of the Policy activities is carried out in the areas where the main efforts in border protection are concentrated through the supply of weapons, military equipment and technical means of border protection to the Republic of Tajikistan.
The third stage (2027-2029) involves the implementation of the Policy's activities along the entire section of the Tajik-Afghan border.
