On May 19, 2025 in Bishkek, under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was held, during which the Secretary General of the Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov made a report on the theme: “On the implementation of decisions (November 2024) session of the CSTO SCS and measures taken to counter challenges and threats to collective security”.
On May 12, 2025, in Moscow, in the Red Banner Hall of the Frunze Central House of the Russian Army, a solemn event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty (May 15, 1992) was held.
Delegation of the CSTO Secretariat headed by the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization will take part in the 13th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues.
On May 13, 2025, the 41st meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Ministerial Council was held with the participation of CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev. The event was also attended by delegations of the Organization's member states and representatives of the UNOCT, the UNRCCA, the CIS ATC, the CIS Coordination Service of the CIS Council of Commanders of Border Troops and the ICRC.
A joint meeting of the CSTO CFM, the CMD and the CSSC was held in Astana
On 28 November 2024, in Astana, a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov.
The meeting participants have exchanged views on the politico-military situation in the regions of collective security, discussed the results of cooperation and prospects for the further development of the collective security system.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the joint celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
A number of documents to be submitted for consideration by the CSTO Collective Security Council were approved, and decisions aimed at further strengthening allied ties, enhancing foreign policy coordination and developing the Collective Forces were adopted.
