On 27 February - 1 March 2024, in Moscow (Russian Federation), a joint meeting of representatives of interested ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states and members of the Working Group to finalize the draft CSTO Special Interstate Policy for strengthening sections of the Tajik-Afghan Border was held under the chairmanship of the Tajik side.
Alexei Shevtsov, the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, and Valery Semerikov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General, addressed the meeting participants.
In his speech, Valery Semerikov expressed confidence that, given the participation of the representative delegations, there was every opportunity to reach agreed decisions on the draft Policy.
Following the results of the meeting, the draft Policy and the draft decisions on it by the CSTO bodies were finalized and an agreement was reached to submit the above draft documents to the CSTO Permanent Council for consideration in order to take a decision on sending them to the CSTO member states for additional coordination.
