On November 20, this year, in Astana, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov.

The meeting participants exchanged views on the current politico-military situation in the CSTO area of responsibility. The importance of the forthcoming approval of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's program on strengthening the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan was stressed.

The sides have discussed preparations for the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, the joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils in Astana on November 28.
