The Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov received the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states and the Secretary General of the Organization in Cholpon-Ata on June 30. The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
On June 30, 2025, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Cholpon-Ata (the Kyrgyz Republic) under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, which was attended by the Organization's Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
Safar Umarzoda, Head of the Department for Countering Challenges and Threats of the CSTO Secretariat, took part in a special event (side-event) on "Countering Radicalization leading to terrorism and Extremism" organized by the Russian Federation on the margins of the OSCE Annual Conference on Security Review, where he reported on the measures taken by the CSTO on countering terrorism and extremism, and willingness to share the experience gained.
On June 19, 2025, in Bosteri, Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic, the XIX meeting of the Council of the Advisory Coordination Center of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on Computer Incident Response (CSTO CCC) was held, which was attended by delegations of representatives of national authorized bodies for responding to computer incidents of the CSTO member states.
On June 24-26, the second staff negotiations were held in the Kyrgyz Republic on the organization and conduct an operational meeting with the Command of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CAR CRDF) and a command and staff training with units of the CAR CRDF "Rubezh-2025", conducted as part of the joint operational and strategic training "Combat Brotherhood-2025".
The organization of activities of joint training of command bodies and formations of the forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in 2022 has been discussed
On 10-11 March, this year, the CSTO Joint Staff hosted consultations via videoconferencing on the organization of joint training activities for the command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system in 2022. The event was held under the general supervision of Lieutenant General Hasan Kaloyev, First Deputy Head of the CSTO Joint Staff. Representatives of the interested ministries and agencies of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff participated in the event.
During the consultations the proposals of the CSTO Joint Staff on the organization of joint training of command bodies and formations of the forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in 2022; on strategic command and staff training of the Joint Staff, the CSTO Secretariat and task forces of the interested ministries and departments of the CSTO member states; on the procedure for special training with intelligence forces and means; on organization and research during joint trainings, as well as on the participation of representatives of non-members of the CSTO, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization states in the trainings held in 2022 were considered.
As a result of consultations, the parties agreed to be guided by the CSTO Joint Staff version of the military-political and strategic situation in the CSTO collective security regions during the preparation of joint and special trainings. A timetable has been planned for holding staff talks on the preparation of joint (special) trainings with CSTO Troops (Collective Forces).
Consultation participants have discussed proposals by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan on approaches to conducting special trainings with the forces and means of the Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) "Echelon-2022", with the intelligence forces and means "Search-2022", the command and staff training with the CSTO CRRF "Interaction-2022". Proposals by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan on approaches to the joint training with the CAR CRDF "Rubezh-2022" and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic on approaches to the command and staff training with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces "Indestructible Brotherhood-2022" were considered.
Participation in joint trainings of a new unit of the collective security system - a joint formation of radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support of the CSTO has been approved.
