On 13 February, a traditional meeting was held in Moscow between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the chairs of the parliamentary committees (commissions) of the CSTO member states responsible for international relations, defense and security. CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and ambassadors of the Organization’s member states also took part in the event.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils (CSSC) Sergey Shoigu gave an extensive interview to the Interfax news agency, in which he commented on the key areas of the Organization’s activities in 2026.
On 12 February, a briefing was held at the CSTO Crisis Response Center by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Nikolaevich Serdyukov on the topic “Results of the joint training of command and control bodies and forces of the CSTO collective security system in 2025 and tasks for 2026.”
On the fourth meeting of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member states on biological security issues

On September 30, 2024, in Almaty, under the chairmanship of the First Vice-Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.S. Sultangaziev, the IV meeting of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member states on biological security issues was held.
Delegations of the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and representatives of the CSTO Secretariat took part in the meeting.
The heads of delegations of the member states exchanged views on the situation in the sphere of biological security in the CSTO area and the cooperation between the competent bodies in this area, including mutual assistance in combating the spread and prevention of challenges and threats to security of a biological nature.
The meeting participants agreed to prepare a joint analysis of the biological security situation in the CSTO area of responsibility.
Among the issues under discussion was the implementation of the Plan of Measures to Ensure Biological Security for the Period 2024-2025.
The chairmanship of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of CSTO member states on biological security issues will be transferred to the Kyrgyz Republic from 1 January 2025, in connection with which it is planned to hold the next meeting on its territory.
