At the second stage of the joint business game proposals are developed on the use of the assets of the CSTO collective security system for the normalization of the situation in the Central Asian region
The CSTO Crisis Response Center, under the general supervision of the CSTO Secretary General, hosts the final stage of a joint business game between the Secretariat, the Joint Staff, and national bodies of the CSTO member States to prepare proposals for the normalization of the situation in the Central Asian region, considering the situation in Afghanistan. The event is held using closed videoconferencing.
In the first stage, functional groups of the CSTO Crisis Response Center and operative groups of control points of national agencies of the Organization's member States were deployed.
Based on conclusions from the current military-political and military-strategic situation in the Central Asian region of collective security, consultations were held with the leadership of a simulated CSTO member State, on whose territory there are prerequisites for the emergence of a crisis situation. Proposals on priority (joint) political and diplomatic measures, rendering necessary humanitarian, material-technical and other assistance in conditions of growing threat of crisis situation were elaborated, which were considered in the course of meetings of the CFM, the CMD, the CSSC, as well as the CSC extraordinary session, "which took place online".
In accordance with the plan for the second stage, the crisis situation in the Central Asian region "continued to escalate" and could lead to an adverse development that threatened the security, stability, territorial integrity and sovereignty of a simulated state. The President of the country sent an appeal to the CSTO for military and military-technical assistance.
During the second stage, an algorithm was developed for actions by the Secretariat of the Organization, the CSTO Joint Staff, and national bodies of the CSTO member States to use the assets of the CSTO collective security system to resolve the crisis situation in the Central Asian region of collective security.
Game participants practiced CSC decisions to provide military and military-technical assistance, including the involvement of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces and its special forces units. According to the game plan, the CRRF should be "redeployed" to a simulated country in the Central Asian region to carry out earmarked tasks.
This event is held in accordance with the Plan of joint training of command bodies and formations of the assets of collective security system of the CSTO for 2021.
