On 25 July 2024, staff of the CSTO Secretariat met with graduates of Central Asian universities in the fields of “International relations” and “Regional studies” who are participating in the International School of Diplomacy and are in Moscow at the invitation of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization ‘National Research Institute for the Development of Communications’ and the Centre for International Strategic Studies of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Allow me to thank the Russian presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the invitation to take part in the debate on the interaction between the United Nations and regional organizations - the CSTO, the CIS and the SCO.

I highly appreciate my participation in the meeting of the main body of the World Organization responsible for maintaining global peace and international security. I am convinced that today's debate will contribute to the development of new, additional mechanisms for United Nations cooperation with the CSTO, the CIS and the SCO - the leading regional organizations operating in the Eurasian security space.

Today, in the Kyrgyz Republic, at the “Edelweiss” training range, as part of the "Indestructible Brotherhood-2023" training with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces, servicemen of the Russian contingent for the first time used the "Fly" attack drone.

In the course of a practical actions by the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces, the “Fly” attack drone, while on the line of contact, took target coordinates, took off and struck the designated targets. The “Fly” is equipped with mounts for droppable munitions with a stabilizer for the application of fire.

The “Fly” attack drone was developed by the Russian specialists and is capable of carrying a payload weighing about 5 kilograms, staying in the air for 30 minutes. The drone is equipped with a 30x zoom camera, which allows it to be used for reconnaissance purposes, and the “Fly” is resistant to electronic warfare.

The active phase of the joint training with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces "Indestructible Brotherhood-2023" is taking place at the “Edelweiss” training range in the Kyrgyz Republic from 9 to 13 October. National contingents of the Peacekeeping Forces of the Republics of Belarus and Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as operational groups of the CSTO Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat are taking part in the training. The training involves about 1,500 servicemen, over 200 units of armored and motor vehicles, Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-24 helicopters, Su-25, Su-30 and Il-76 aircraft, unmanned aviation and combat boats.
