The CSTO Secretary General had a meeting with the Armenian Foreign Minister


Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, met with Imangali Tasmagambetov, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, in Yerevan, on March 17.

According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, at the beginning of the meeting, Minister Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated Imangali Tasmagambetov on assuming the post of the CSTO Secretary General, wishing him fruitful work and success.

The interlocutors have exchanged views on the current military-political situation in the region.

The humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor was touched upon. The Foreign Minister stressed the imperative of implementing the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9 in 2020.

During the meeting, the CSTO Secretary General presented his impressions from his visit to the city of Jermuk the day before.

On the morning of the same day, the CSTO Secretary General, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, visited the “Yerablur” Pantheon.
