On 20 December, a joint training session was held between the duty shifts of the CSTO Crisis Response Center and the command posts of the defense and emergency ministries of the Organization's member states.
On 10 and 11 December, the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization hosted videoconference consultations of representatives of interested ministries and departments of the CSTO member states on the organization of joint training activities in 2026 for the CSTO collective security system's command and control bodies and formations.
On December 11, 2024, Taalatbek Masadykov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General and Special Representative of the CSTO Secretary General for Peacekeeping, held a meeting with the delegation of the Monitoring Group (MG) of the UN Security Council Sanctions Committees 1267/1989/2253 on ISIS and “Al-Qaeda” and 1988 on the Taliban Movement.
On December 11, 2024, the 40th meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Ministerial Council was held with the participation of the CSTO Deputy Secretary General S. Ordabayev and the CSTO Deputy Secretary General T. Masadykov. The event was also attended by delegations of the Organization's member states and representatives of the UNOCT, the UNRCCA, the CIS ATC, the Coordination Service of the CIS Council of Commanders of Border Troops, the SCO RATS, and the ICRC.
Two thousand CSTO CRRF troops during the “Interaction-2018” exercise in Kyrgyzstan plan and work out a joint operation to localize an armed conflict

October 11, 2018, in the Kyrgyz Republic, at the training ground of the Edelweiss training center of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, within the framework of a command and staff exercise with military contingents of the Collective Operational Response Forces of the CSTO “Interaction-2018”, the CSTO Commander of the CRRF was heard to use the created group in a joint operation on the localization of the armed conflict in the Central Asian region.
The event, held in the field headquarters of the exercise management, was attended by Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO Piotr Tsikhanouski, Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, Deputy Commander of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Lieutenant General Yuri Petrov as well as an intermediary apparatus, which included representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the CSTO Joint Staff and ARIAT CSTO.
The report was carried out by Colonel Yuri Lobanov, Commander of the CSTO CRRF. He gave a detailed account of the action plan, where the main efforts of the CSTO units of the CRRF and the ways of accomplishing their tasks will be concentrated.
Colonel Yuri Lobanov paid special attention to the order of interaction of the troops in solving the tasks set and determined the tasks for combat, material, technical and other types of support.The decision reported to the commander of the CSTO CRRF was approved by the leadership of the exercise.
At the same time, the planning of the comprehensive support of the joint operation continued at the command post of the CSTO CRRF, combat orders were sent to the CSTOR CRRF units.
The military contingents of the CSTO CRRF carry out exits to the specified areas and conduct training at the stage of practical actions of the upcoming combat firing exercise. In particular, during the working out of one of the episodes of the operation, the Forpost unmanned aerial vehicles were involved, with their help the “promotion” of the main forces of the “militants” to the border of the conditional state of Kyzylstan, a member of the CSTO, was discovered. A preemptive airstrike was inflicted on them by two Tu-22M3 bombers of the Russian Federation, Su-25 attack aircraft and MI-24 helicopters.
The command and staff exercise with military contingents of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the CSTO “Interaction-2018” involved about 2,000 military personnel, 300 pieces of equipment, about 40 aircraft, including UAVs. The
maneuvers in the Kyrgyz Republic are carried out in the framework of the unifiedplan of the operational-strategic exercise of the CSTO "Combat Brotherhood-2018".
