From October 18 to 23 this year, in accordance with the 2026 Plan for the Joint Training of Command and Control Bodies and Formations of Forces and Assets of the Collective Security System of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the “Cobalt-2026” special exercise was held at the Magob training range of the Special Purpose Units Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
An international scientific and practical conference entitled “Greater Eurasia: Institutions, Development, Cooperation” was held at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, jointly organized with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS). An international scientific and practical conference entitled “Transformation of the Global Security System and the Shaping of a Eurasian Security Framework” was held at Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU).
Today, a conference entitled “The Role and Place of Media in CSTO Member States in Efforts to Contain Crisis (Emergency) Situations in Collective Security Regions” was held in Minsk.
The CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov took part in the 87th meeting of the Council of Border Troops Commanders

On 19 October, in Yerevan (the Republic of Armenia), the regular 87th session of the Council of the Border Troops Commanders was held.
The meeting was attended by delegations of border agencies of the CIS member states, heads of cooperating competent bodies of the Commonwealth and working structures of international organizations.
The meeting analyzed the situation on the external borders of the CIS member states and discussed the results of the activities aimed at forming a system to ensure collective border security.
Valery Semerikov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General, spoke on the topic "Challenges and threats to the security of the CSTO member states in the CSTO area of responsibility and measures to neutralize them". Valery Semerikov expressed his gratitude to the border guard agencies of the CSTO member states for the contribution they were making through their participation to enhancing the effectiveness of special operations conducted in the CSTO format.
As margin notes of the 87th meeting of the Council of Border Troops Commanders, Valery Semerikov held working meetings with the Chairman of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia Armen Abazyan, the heads of the border services of the CSTO member states and the Head of the CIS ATC Evgeny Sysoyev.
