Addressing the participants in the working meeting, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, noted in particular that the improvement of the system of interstate information cooperation and the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) management system, the technical basis of which was the communications system, was regarded in the Organization as one of the most important areas. He also noted that the experience of the peacekeeping operation in the Republic of Kazakhstan and joint operational and combat training activities demonstrated the need to coordinate the efforts of the CSTO member states to improve the CSTO communications system.

The meeting participants have discussed the main results of joint activities in the current year and future directions. Particular attention was paid to the procedure for organizing communications during the joint trainings planned for this autumn in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republics of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Consideration was also given to the use of advanced communications equipment in the contingents of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces).

The event made it possible to discuss the results of the functioning of the communications system and automated troop control systems and to outline ways of improving the technical basis for the Collective Security Treaty Organization's system of interstate information interaction.
