In the period from April 10 to April 11, under the leadership of Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO, the first staff talks on the preparation of joint exercises planned to be held in 2019 were held in Moscow.
The staff talks were attended by delegations from interested ministries and departments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat.
The chief of the CSTO Joint Headquarters focused the attention of the participants of the event that the work on joint exercises should be guided by the Operational and Strategic Task Plan, defining common approaches to the development of the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, as well as The composition of the CSTO Forces (Collective Forces) groupings and their preliminary tasks were coordinated.
“For the first time, the special trainings“ Echelon-2019 ”should be linked together with other exercises both at the operational level and in the part concerning the actions of the units,” said Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov.
The chief of the CSTO Joint Staff noted that in accordance with the results of the analysis of joint operational and combat training activities, special exercises, such as the “Search” with intelligence services and units of the Organization's member states, should be carried out with the participation of the CSTO Command Command. It is proposed to include in the participants of this exercise the operational group of the Command of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces. During the staff talks, the basics of joint exercises with the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) were reviewed, positions were agreed and agreements were reached on organizing the leadership of the events and on contingent personnel.
