The CSTO foreign ministers had a meeting in New York

MOSCOW, Sept. 21. /TASS/. The Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization have discussed interaction with the United Nations and international security issues, including the situation in Afghanistan, at a meeting in New York. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry at the end of the meeting.
"The partners have discussed coordination of approaches to the main issues on the agenda of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, ways to strengthen CSTO interaction with the UN, including in the area of the CSTO involvement in UN peacekeeping operations. There was an in-depth exchange of views on a wide range of topical international and regional security issues, including the organization's area of responsibility, as well as on the situation in Afghanistan," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The ministers also discussed preparations for the upcoming session of the Collective Security Council in Yerevan. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the meeting was an important stage in the work for further strengthening of foreign policy coordination within the CSTO and regular "time check" on topical issues of the current international situation.
