In Kazakhstan, a joint command-staff training with the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces (CPF) began practicing combat training tasks at checkpoints, roadblocks and refugee reception points, escorting convoys and cargoes, and providing humanitarian assistance. On the eve of the training, Major General Almaz Dzhumakeyev, head of the training, presented the commander of the CPF with a mandate to prepare and conduct a peacekeeping operation.
Today, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the training range “Bereg”, the opening ceremony of the active phase of the command-staff training with the Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) “Indestructible Brotherhood-2024” was held.
On September 30, 2024, in Almaty, under the chairmanship of the First Vice-Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.S. Sultangaziev, the IV meeting of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member states on biological security issues was held.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, on September 26, 2024, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, a working meeting of foreign ministers of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held. This meeting occurs annually on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
On 25-26 September 2024, the IV International Conference on the Spread of Extremist Ideology, organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, was held in Moscow.

On March 12, 2020 the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas met with the permanent representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO member states in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. The meeting was held at the Joint Staff of the Organization, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Senior Officer of the CSTO Joint Staff, also attended.
Stanislav Zas informed the CSTO PA Permanent Representatives that the Organization has begun to implement the Action Plan recently signed by the Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Action plan for the implementation of the decisions of the November (2019) session of the CSC and the priorities proposed by the Russian Federation.
The CSTO Secretary General emphasized that in his activities he also intends to pay special attention to the parliamentary component of the CSTO. “We attach great importance to inter-parliamentary cooperation in the format of the Parliamentary Assembly of our Organization. I believe that one of the main issues that the Parliamentary Assembly decides is the implementation of the CSTO regulatory legal acts into the national legislation of the CSTO member states, " - the Secretary General noted.
He drew the attention of parliamentarians to the recently introduced Institute of Partners and Observers at the CSTO, noting that the Parliamentary Assembly was the first in this matter. “At present, the CSTO PA’s partners in inter-parliamentary relations are Serbia and Afghanistan, and I consider it expedient to continue expanding such relations,” said the CSTO Secretary General.
Stanislav Zas said that the Collective Security Treaty Organization is actively cooperating with the relevant UN structures in the application of the CSTO peacekeeping potential in the interests of the United Nations.
In his opinion, one of the important issues that can be resolved with the help of the Parliamentary Assembly is the creation of legislative mechanisms to create a single list of terrorist organizations recognized as terrorist in all CSTO member states. Stanislav Zas also said that he considers it possible for the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to adopt joint statements on pressing issues of the Organization’s activities.
The CSTO Secretary General emphasized that the Organization attaches great importance to holding events dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. These events are provided for in a separate Plan approved by the Collective Security Council. “In the CSTO member states, events have been planned to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory, which will help to effectively convey to the general public truthful information about the contribution of the peoples of the countries included in the Collective Security Treaty Organization to the Great Victory, and will not allow distorting the historical truth about the war "- summed up the Secretary General of the CSTO Stanislav Zas.
The Executive secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Sergei Pospelov, in turn, said that the PA is developing model laws providing for the implementation of the norms from the documents adopted by the CSTO in the national legislation of the Organization's member states. “Priority is given to laws in the field of defense and security, we understand the importance of this work, and today in general implementation reaches 90 percent,” he said.
Touching upon the topic of the CSTO Partners and Observers, Sergey Pospelov said that in addition to parliamentarians from Serbia and Afghanistan, legislative meetings from India, Pakistan, and Cuba also attended the meetings of the CSTO PA. “The SCO countries are also very interested in parliamentary cooperation,” said the Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA.
He informed that one of the new directions in the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly is the observation of elections in the CSTO member states.
Speaking about the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Sergey Pospelov informed that before May 9 this year it is expected that a corresponding Appeal of the parliaments of the CSTO member states to the parliaments of European countries will be adopted.
Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, briefed parliamentarians on the activities of the CSTO Staff and Crisis Response Center and spoke about the algorithms of the Crisis Response Center and Development during the development of scenarios for the prevention and resolution of potential crisis situations in the CSTO member states.
