On 11 March 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a round table on "Cooperation in the Information and Analytical Sphere to Ensure Collective Security" on the occasion of the Tajik Press Day. The event was attended by the Head of the Department for the Study of Regional Security Problems of the Strategic Research Centre under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sayhamid Sharifzoda, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO, Khasan Sultonov, and representatives of the Tajik media.
Coordination meeting of the CSTO and the International Committee of the Red Cross will be held in Moscow
12.12.2019On December 17, 2019, the regular fifth High-level Coordination meeting between the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will be held in Moscow.
The CSTO Deputy Secretary General Piotr Tsikhanouski, ICRC Director of the Office of Operations, Dominic Stilhart, responsible executives of the Secretariat and the Joint Staff of the CSTO, heads and staff of structural units of the ICRC headquarters in Geneva and the ICRC Regional Delegation in the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova are expected to participate in this meeting.
Based on the positive experience of previous meetings of this level, the CSTO and ICRC representatives intend to continue the course to further deepen the dialogue on humanitarian challenges in zones of armed conflict, create conditions for effective cooperation between the CSTO and the ICRC, as well as to disseminate modern practical and research experience in the field of implementation and the integration of international humanitarian law (IHL).
The agenda of the event is aimed at finding the most optimal forms and methods of response of the two international organizations to modern humanitarian challenges. During the meeting, the parties will exchange views on priorities, activities and humanitarian problem issues relevant to both organizations.
In particular, topics will be discussed on trends in contemporary conflicts, the protection of refugees migrating from zones of armed conflict, and others.
