The Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov received the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states and the Secretary General of the Organization in Cholpon-Ata on June 30. The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
On June 30, 2025, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Cholpon-Ata (the Kyrgyz Republic) under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, which was attended by the Organization's Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
Safar Umarzoda, Head of the Department for Countering Challenges and Threats of the CSTO Secretariat, took part in a special event (side-event) on "Countering Radicalization leading to terrorism and Extremism" organized by the Russian Federation on the margins of the OSCE Annual Conference on Security Review, where he reported on the measures taken by the CSTO on countering terrorism and extremism, and willingness to share the experience gained.
In Dushanbe, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov
On March 13, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit.
In the course of the conversation, the sides discussed the challenges facing the Organization today and considered some current issues of the regional and international agenda.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan emphasized the relevance of increasing cooperation in the political dimension, expanding the international activities of the CSTO, and increasing the effectiveness of military, military-technical and military-economic cooperation.
It was stressed the importance of strengthening comprehensive work to counter challenges and threats to security, in particular terrorism, extremism, radicalism, drug smuggling, cybercrime and transnational organized crime.
The parties noted the relevance of building the CSTO's capacity to effectively combat existing security risks and threats.
During the conversation, views were exchanged on the situation in Afghanistan and other topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
