On 20 April 2026, a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Russian side. During the meeting, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov delivered a report entitled “On the progress in implementing the decisions of the November (2025) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and measures taken to counter challenges and threats to collective security.”
On 17 April 2026, a working meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Central Asia, Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kaha Imnadze.
On 17 April 2026, the 17th meeting of the Working Group under the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils on information security was held in Moscow, with the participation of delegations of representatives of national coordinating and competent authorities on information security, as well as experts and specialists from relevant national structures and agencies of the Organization’s member states.
On 16 April 2026, the 21st meeting of the Council of the CSTO Consultative Coordination Center for Computer Incident Response (CCC CSTO) was held in Moscow, with the participation of delegations of representatives of national competent authorities for computer incident response of the Organization’s member states, as well as a delegation of the CSTO Secretariat headed by Umarzoda Umar Safar, Head of the Countering Challenges and Threats Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
In the Astrakhan region, the "Echelon-2020" special training began with the assets of Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics of the CSTO CRRF

At the opening ceremony of the training, the Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Major General Mukhamedzhan Talasov noted that the training was being conducted despite the fact that a difficult sanitary and epidemic situation had developed in the Organization's member states caused by the spread of coronavirus infection.
In the course of the training, the issues of deploying Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics center, transporting military contingents, as well as organizing Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics in the interests of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the CSTO upon a joint operation to localize a border armed conflict in the Caucasian region of collective security are being worked out. Subdivisions are improving the practice of loading and unloading military equipment in various ways, replenishing supplies in battle area, evacuating and repairing equipment damaged during a battle, mass refueling equipment, etc.
“One of the main goals of the training is to improve the coherence of joint actions on Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics in the interests of the CSTO CRRF, designed to respond promptly to challenges and threats to the security of our states,” Mukhamedzhan Talasov said.
The Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff expressed confidence that the command and control bodies and subdivisions participating in the “Echelon-2020” special training would demonstrate a high level of professional training and the ability to effectively operate as part of joint groupings of forces in various conditions.
Military personnel of the Organization's member states and an operational group of the CSTO Joint Staff are taking part in the training under the charge of the Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, Lieutenant General Viktor Voronov. In total, about one thousand servicemen and about 250 pieces of equipment are involved.
