On May 26 of this year, a round table entitled “35 Years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Tasks, and Prospects” was held at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by heads of integration structures in the post-Soviet space, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of the embassies of CIS countries in Russia. On May 20, consultations of representatives (experts) of the defense agencies of the CSTO member states aimed at improving air defense and developing the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff headquarters.
A joint training with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Central Asian Region and the CSTO peacekeeping forces "Indestructable Brotherhood-2019" will be held in Tajikistan from October 21 to 29
In accordance with the Plan for the joint training of control bodies command, and force and means generation of the CSTO collective security system for 2019 from October 21 to 29, this year, in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan, it is planned to conduct a joint training with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Central Asian region and the CSTO peacekeeping forces "Frontier-2019" and "Indestructuble Brotherhood-2019" as part of the joint operational-strategic training “Combat Brotherhood-2019”.
The joint training “Frontier-2019” and “Indestructible Brotherhood-2019” will be attended by military contingents and police forces allocated from the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Central Asian region and the CSTO peacekeeping forces. At the same time, representatives of regional organizations of the International Committee of the Red Cross, military attaches accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of veteran organizations, authorities and local self-government are planning to participate in the final phase.
The training will be attended by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Piotr Tsikhanouski, the Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Secretariat representatives and military men of the CSTO Joint Staff.
Taking into account the common practice of conducting joint trainings in the CSTO format, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army were invited and will take part as observers at the final stage of the joint training “Undestructable Brotherhood-2019”.
The training is planned to be held at the Khybmardon training ground under the leadership of Deputy Commander of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Lieutenant General Yuri Petrov.
