From the speech of the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov at the plenary session of the XII International Meeting of High Representatives in charge of security issues (23-24 April 2024, St. Petersburg):
<…>
The CSTO member states and the Organization itself, constantly confronted with challenges and threats, have developed a mechanism for coordinating cooperation among allies on a wide range of information security issues.
Information security issues fall within the competence of the Working Group under the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO.
The protection of information space and information resources in the Organization's area of responsibility is carried out through the implementation of the CSTO's comprehensive interstate permanent operation "PROXY". Authorized bodies of national security and internal affairs, competent bodies for combating illicit drug trafficking and illegal migration, and financial monitoring structures are taking part in this operation.
The CSTO member states have regulations in place to identify and block unlawful content. Severe penalties are provided for certain types of terrorist offences in this area.
