On May 26 of this year, a round table entitled “35 Years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Tasks, and Prospects” was held at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. In the period from May 21 to May 24, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, at the base of the 333rd Combat Training Center of the Western Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the second staff negotiations were held on the preparation and conduct of a joint exercise with military contingents of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF) “Interaction-2019” and a special exercise “Echelon-2019 " with the forces and means of the logistical support of the CSTO member states.

A group of officers headed by Lieutenant-General Hasan Kaloyev, First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, representatives of the CSTO Secretariat and a delegation of interested ministries and departments from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the negotiations.

In the course of the staff negotiations, the basics of the plans of the exercises and the order of their conduct, the administration staff of the exercise membership, the CSTO CRRF Command Force, the contingents, the logistics support office, and the organization of comprehensive support were discussed.

The reconnaissance of the exercise areas allowed on-site consideration of the issues of equipping control points, locating management and trainees in field conditions, weapons storage sites, military and special equipment, ammunition, as well as practical procedures for the CSTO CRRF contingents and the logistic support divisions of the CSTO member states.

The "Interaction-2019" and the "Echelon-2019" will be held at the second stage of the joint operational-strategic exercise "Combat Brotherhood-2019", in which military contingents and the formation of special forces and means will work out the preparation and conducting a joint operation to localize a border military conflict in the Eastern European collective security region.

It should be reminded that last year more than 10 thousand people, more than 1500 units of armament and military equipment, including more than 90 units of aircraft, were involved in the joint operational-strategic doctrine “Combat Bratherhood-2018”.
