On August 17–19, at the invitation of Colonel General Alexander Manilov, Chairman of the Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders of the CIS, a delegation of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov took part in international events held in the area of responsibility of the Border Directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
On August 14, consultations were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states on organizing joint training activities for command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system in 2027.
On July 15, 2026, the High-Level Regional Meeting “Enhancing Capacities to Prevent the Supply of Weapons to Terrorists in Central Asia” was held in Moscow, organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism with the participation of the Russian side.
On July 14, 2026, a working meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov and UN Assistant Secretary-General Alexander Zuev.
The CSTO Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat held a joint training with the participation of operational groups of the CSTO member states
Issues related to the preparation of proposals for the deployment and use of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces in the Eastern European collective security region were worked out during a joint training session between the CSTO Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat on the basis of the CSTO Crisis Response Centre from 23 to 24 August, in Moscow.
Operational groups from the Organization's member states participated in a joint training via videoconferencing.
According to the training situation, the CSTO Collective Security Council was approached by the President of a CSTO member state with a request for military and military-technical assistance to resolve the crisis situation.
In the course of the joint training, algorithms were worked out for the actions of the standing working bodies of the CSTO and the operational groups of its member states in responding to a crisis situation.
The draft decisions of the CSTO bodies will form the basis for the deployment of contingents of the CSTO CRRF during the joint and special trainings "Interaction-2023", "Search-2023", "Echelon-2023" and "Barrier-2023" on the territory of the Republic of Belarus in September this year.
