On June 12, 2026, a conference entitled “Central Asia – the Core of the SCO: A Space of Peace and Shared Development” was held in Dushanbe under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan. Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabayev took part in the event.

On June 10, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan (Russian Federation) under the chairmanship of the Russian side, with the participation of CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov. CIS Deputy Secretary General Denis Trefilov and SCO Deputy Secretary General Oleg Kopylov were also invited to attend the meeting.

On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.

The Secretariat and the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization express their deepest condolences on the death of retired Army President Gareev Mahmut Akhmetovich, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a prominent military leader, a famous scientist, and selflessly devoted to his Fatherland .

We share with the family, relatives and friends of Makhmut Akhmetovich the bitterness of their irreparable loss that befell them.

The fond memory of retired army general Gareev Mahmut Akhmetovich will forever remain in our hearts.
