Safar Umarzoda, Head of the Department for Countering Challenges and Threats of the CSTO Secretariat, took part in a special event (side-event) on "Countering Radicalization leading to terrorism and Extremism" organized by the Russian Federation on the margins of the OSCE Annual Conference on Security Review, where he reported on the measures taken by the CSTO on countering terrorism and extremism, and willingness to share the experience gained.

Representatives of the ministries and agencies concerned have discussed the organization of the main events of joint training of the CSTO collective security system's command and control bodies and formations in 2026 11.12.2024

On 10 and 11 December, the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization hosted videoconference consultations of representatives of interested ministries and departments of the CSTO member states on the organization of joint training activities in 2026 for the CSTO collective security system's command and control bodies and formations.

The event, chaired by Lieutenant General Anatoly Yakovlev, Head of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) Application Planning Department - Deputy Head of the Center, was attended by representatives of the ministries and departments concerned of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff.

In the course of consultations, a draft Plan for the joint training of the CSTO collective security system's command and control bodies and formations for 2026 was discussed and agreed upon, which is to be submitted for consideration by the CSTO's statutory bodies next year. A set of these measures is aimed at increasing the readiness of the forces and means of the CSTO's collective security system to carry out earmarked tasks.
