On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.

From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.

18.02.2021The Chairman of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas in Dushanbe. The meeting took place at the Residence of the head of the Tajik state on February 18 this year.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan have approved the Action Plan presented by the Secretary General to implement the decisions of the CSTO CSC session (December 2, 2020) and implement the priority directions proposed by the Republic of Tajikistan for the period of its chairmanship in the CSTO.
Stanislav Zas reported to the Chairman of the CSC that the document was prepared on the basis of the decisions of the December (2020) session of the CSTO CSC, taking into account the proposals put forward in the course of the session and at the meetings of the CSTO CFM, CMD and CSSC with an emphasis on the priorities of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the Organization.
“The plan calls for practical measures in the spheres of political, military, military-economic and military-technical cooperation, interaction in countering the challenges and threats to the security of the Organization's member states,” the CSTO Secretary General said.
He reported that certain sections of the Plan were committed to crisis response, the CSTO peacekeeping activities, as well as measures to reduce tensions in the Tajik-Afghan border area. Stanislav Zas stressed that the document provided for the approval of the draft CSTO Special Interstate Policy for strengthening sections of the Tajik-Afghan Border.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan highlighted the relevance of building up interaction within the CSTO in matters of effectively countering the tendencies of the spread of radical destructive ideologies in the Organization's area of responsibility, as well as combating cybercrime and other illegal actions using information and communication technologies.
In this context, it was emphasized the importance of stepping up work on the implementation of the CSC Decision "On the list of additional measures aimed at reducing tension in the Tajik-Afghan border area" to work out the issue of adopting a Combined list of organizations recognized as terrorist in the CSTO format.
Upon discussing issues on the international and regional agenda, special attention was paid to the development of the situation in Afghanistan, as well as the growing trend of global threats of terrorism, extremism, various forms of radicalism and transnational organized crime, including drug trafficking.
In this regard, Emomali Rahmon noted the relevance of building the CSTO's potential to effectively combat these risks and security threats.
The head of the Tajik state have discussed with the CSTO Secretary General the holding on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2021 in person of the session of the Collective Security Council and meetings of the statutory bodies – the CSTO CFM, CMD and CSSC, as well as joint trainings with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces "Interaction - 2021", special trainings with intelligence assets "Search-2021" and trainings with the Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics units "Echelon-2021. "The purpose of these trainings is to demonstrate the readiness of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) to respond to emerging security threats in the Tajik-Afghan border area," Stanislav Zas said in his report.
He said that the approved Plan also reflected topical issues on interaction on the connection of interested countries and international organizations to the activities of the CSTO as an Observer under the CSTO and a CSTO Partner, as well as the intention to develop cooperation between the CSTO, the CIS and the SCO.
