The transition of the military conflict into the CSTO zone of responsibility is a new stage of escalation. Our analytical service is working around the clock. We are closely following the development of the situation and will act in accordance with the Organization's Charter. The Secretariat and the relevant state structures of the Russian Federation exchange information on a routine basis. If necessary, the CSTO Secretariat will implement all the procedures envisaged in such a case within the established time limits — the CSTO press service stated.
The organization reminded that the issue of providing military assistance could arise only in the case of an official request from a member state. However, there has been no such request from Russia in connection with the situation in Kursk region so far.
