On 24 April 2024, in Moscow, at the CSTO Secretariat consultations of the CSTO member states under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the theme: "On topical issues of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation" took place.
From 1 to 23 April 2024, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hosted the regular IX Training Courses of the CSTO member states for senior staff and leading specialists of defense departments, law enforcement agencies, security council apparatuses, security agencies and special services, as well as bodies authorized to prevent and eliminate emergency situations.
On 22 April 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a working meeting between the Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Samat Ordabaev, and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kakha Imnadze.

In the course of the command and staff training with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces "Indestructible Brotherhood-2020", which is taking place in the Vitebsk region of the Republic of Belarus, for the first time in the practice of conducting trainings with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces, a Peacekeeping Mission was formed.
The Peacekeeping Mission, consisting of the Secretariat staff and the CSTO Joint Staff, in the course of the training analyzes the situation in the zone of the simulated conflict, determines the reasons for the disagreements and suggests ways to resolve them.
The Mission is responsible for organizing and conducting negotiations with representatives of the conflicting parties and local authorities in order to prevent the escalation of tensions and reach a compromise between the conflicting parties.
In the course of the training, the CSTO Peacekeeping Mission closely interacts with the Joint Command of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces, representatives of the UN and other international organizations working in the zone of the simulated "conflict", and also coordinates political, military, informational, socio-legal, and humanitarian measures undertaken to resolve the conflict.
The Mission plays an important role in assisting peacekeeping contingents participating in the training in communicating the main provisions on the application of international humanitarian law in armed conflicts.
Participation in the command and staff training "Indestructible Brotherhood-2020" of the Peacekeeping Mission made it possible to work out the whole range of measures for the preparation and conduct of a peacekeeping operation by the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces in the zone of a simulated conflict.
The training under the charge of the Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Vadim Denisenko, involves the contingents of the CSTO member states, operational groups of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat, police (militia) forces and rescue sections. The total number of training participants is more than 900 people, more than 120 units of military and special equipment are also involved, including strike drones, two Mi-8AMTSh helicopters and two Mi-24 attack helicopters of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The training is conducted in two stages and will end on October 16 with a play of practical actions at the Losvido training ground in the Vitebsk region.
