From July 7 to 9, second staff talks were held in the Russian Federation on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF) command-and-staff exercise “Interaction-2026”, the special reconnaissance exercise “Poisk-2026”, and the logistics support exercise “Echelon-2026”.

In accordance with the 2026 Action Plan of the Coordinating Council of Heads of the Competent Authorities for Countering Illicit Drug Trafficking of the CSTO Member States, and as part of the Russian Federation's priorities during its 2026 CSTO Chairmanship, the sub-regional counter-narcotics operation “Kanal – Amber Coast” was conducted from June 29 to July 3, 2026. The operation was aimed at disrupting trafficking routes for narcotic drugs, their precursors and analogues, new psychoactive substances, and potent substances into the CSTO area of responsibility, neutralizing international transnational drug trafficking groups, dismantling clandestine drug production facilities, undermining the economic foundations of the drug trade, including the laundering of drug proceeds.

The CSTO Coordinating Council on Combating Illegal Migration has discussed the results of operation “Illegal-2022” 06.12.2022

On December 6 this year, in Yerevan, a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Heads of the Competent Authorities of the CSTO Member States on Combating Illegal Migration (CCCIM) was held.

Delegations from the CSTO member states and the CSTO Secretariat participated in the meeting. The members of the CCCIM have discussed the state of the migration situation and changes in the migration legislation in the CSTO member states, praised the effectiveness of measures to counter illegal migration, in particular the CSTO operation "Illegal-2022", and summarized the results of the operation.

Also, the Russian side provided information on the humanitarian work carried out by Russia with regard to citizens arriving from the territory of Ukraine.

The CCCIM members heard a report from the Kazakh side on digitalization in the migration service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As a result of the CCCIM meeting it was decided to hold the next meeting in the second half of 2023 in the Republic of Belarus, the presidency of the CSTO in 2023.
