On August 16, 2022, the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas received the UN Assistant Secretary General for Europe, Central Asia and America Miroslav Jenča.

In the course of the meeting it was noted that the UN remained the main international partner of the CSTO in the context of the dramatic aggravation of the military and political situation. Under these conditions, dialogue between the two organizations on early warning of conflicts and crisis management is of particular importance. It is important to continue and increase the established cooperation in combating international terrorism and drug trafficking.

Another priority area of interaction is preparation for the use of the CSTO peacekeeping capabilities in the UN peacekeeping operations.

The draft Resolution of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly "On cooperation between the UN and the CSTO", currently under development, is aimed at assisting in achieving these goals.

Problems of regional security, including the situation in Afghanistan, were discussed.

The CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev and the Director of the UN Information Center in Moscow Vladimir Kuznetsov participated in the meeting.
