On April 4, 2023, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with the Defense Minister and Assistant to the President - the Security Council Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ruslan Jaqsylyqov and Gizat Nurdauletov.

The parties have discussed in detail the military and political situation in the Organization's area of responsibility. Imangali Tasmagambetov informed about the implementation of the Action Plan to implement the decisions of the November (2022) session of the CSTO Collective Security Treaty Organization and the priority areas of the CSTO activities during the presidency of the Republic of Belarus.

The focus was also on improving the Organization's crisis response system and developing cooperation with the UN, with a focus on peacekeeping and counterterrorism activities.
