On April 13, this year, in Moscow, the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas had a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus - First Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the preparations for the upcoming meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers in Dushanbe at the end of April, exchanged views on challenges and threats in the CSTO regions of responsibility and beyond, discussed the results of the Organization's work in the past year and the tasks assigned to it in the field of military cooperation at the near future.

The Secretary General noted the further need to equip the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF) with modern weapons, military and special equipment, as well as to expand cooperation between the CSTO and international and regional organizations. For example, he noted the development of a dialogue with the UN on the issue of embedding the CSTO peacekeeping potential in the UN peacekeeping activities.
