He said that by joint efforts, by the will of our peoples and leaders of states, we have preserved and built a solid foundation for further allied, strategic partnership, which helps to solve current problems in all our countries. "I mean the CIS and other integration associations (CSTO, EAEU). Within their framework, a harmonious, reliable system for developing contacts has been built: socio-economic; in the field of security; interaction of law enforcement agencies to ensure law and order throughout the space of our states; humanitarian and cultural ties traditions rooted in the CIS, including the holding of various annual events, including the ongoing project, according to which the cultural capitals of the Commonwealth are determined for each year. All this finds a lively response from our peoples, helps to develop states, economies, the social sphere and reliably to ensure common security," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Sergei Lavrov highlighted the tasks facing everyone in connection with attempts to falsify the history of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War. "The International Association (Commission) of Historians and Archivists of the CIS countries has been formed, which will deal with countering such attempts. In Europe and closer to our borders, we are seeing campaigns aimed at completely rewriting history, canceling the feat of our fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers. How responsible countries, the states that bore the brunt of the victory over fascism, we must not allow this to happen," the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.
