On 5 June 2025, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

In the course of the conversation, the sides highly appreciated the prospects for cooperation at the level of regional organizations in the interests of strengthening international peace, security and stability in Eurasia.

The sides also touched upon the preparation of events in Beijing on the 80th anniversary of China's victory over the Japanese invaders, as well as the holding of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
