On May 7, the CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov held a working meeting in Moscow at the CSTO Joint Staff aimed at improving issues related to crisis response and expert cooperation.
On May 6, 2026, a meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between the CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykovand newly appointed Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the CSTO Vladimir Bespaly.
28 April marks the Day of the CSTO Joint Staff. It should be recalled that on 28 April 2003, in Dushanbe, the Collective Security Council, guided by the need to establish a military staff body responsible for implementing the military component of the Collective Security Treaty, adopted the Decision “On the Establishment of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.”
A regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers was held in Bishkek
On May 28, 2025, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers was held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side. The event was attended by Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Organization's Joint Staff.
The sides have discussed in detail the military and political situation in the CSTO area of responsibility and exchanged views on further development of the collective security system.
During the meeting, a number of documents were considered and approved concerning the planning of military cooperation between the CSTO member states for 2026-2030, the organization of joint training for the CSTO's command and control bodies and formations of the forces and means of the collective security system, the improvement of issues related to the management of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) and a number of others.
The meeting participants noted the high level of organization of the parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which was held on 9 May 2025 on Red Square in Moscow and in which military units of the CSTO member states took part.
