The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told RIA Novosti, commenting on the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” that terrorism was used in hybrid warfare, provoked inter-ethnic and inter-religious discord, so the CSTO member states needed tools to counter this phenomenon.
In the period from 12 to 13 March 2024, in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a strategic command and staff training is being conducted under the supervision of Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff, during which issues related to stabilizing the situation in the Central Asian region of collective security in the context of the growing threat of a crisis situation are being worked out.

On 11 March 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a round table on "Cooperation in the Information and Analytical Sphere to Ensure Collective Security" on the occasion of the Tajik Press Day. The event was attended by the Head of the Department for the Study of Regional Security Problems of the Strategic Research Centre under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sayhamid Sharifzoda, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO, Khasan Sultonov, and representatives of the Tajik media.
The CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas held telephone conversations with the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO member states on the situation with the coronavirus pandemic in the Organization’s area of responsibility
03.04.2020During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on the epidemiological situation in each state that is part of the Organization. The measures taken to counteract the spread of coronavirus, as well as minimize its consequences were discussed.
It was noted that all countries, except the Republic of Tajikistan, came to the stage of peak indicators of the spread of the epidemic, while the situation was difficult but controlled everywhere. “The effectiveness of such control is achieved by the timely application of restrictive and preventive measures taken by governments, health authorities, sanitary and epidemiological inspection service and the competent authorities of the CSTO member states,” Stanislav Zas said. He drew attention to the fact that in the Republic of Tajikistan until now not a single case of infection with coronavirus has been officially recorded.,
The conversation took place with the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO member states: the Republic of Armenia - Armen Grigoryan, the Republic of Belarus - Andrei Ravkov, the Republic of Kazakhstan - Asset Issekeshev, the Kyrgyz Republic - Damir Sagynbaev, the Russian Federation - Nikolai Patrushev, the Republic of Tajikistan - Nasrullo Mahmudzoda.
The CSTO Secretary General said that the partners in conversation agreed to continue consultations in order to develop collective response measures in the event of a sharp deterioration in the epidemiological situation in the CSTO area of responsibility.
