On June 10, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan (Russian Federation) under the chairmanship of the Russian side, with the participation of CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov. CIS Deputy Secretary General Denis Trefilov and SCO Deputy Secretary General Oleg Kopylov were also invited to attend the meeting.
On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.
A working meeting between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Babaev was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.
The 26th meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Competent Authorities for Countering the Illicit Drug Trafficking of the CSTO Member States

On 2 December 2024, the 26th meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Competent Authorities for Countering the Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (hereinafter referred to as the CSTO CCBCD) was held via videoconferencing.
The meeting was attended by heads of departments and representatives of anti-drug units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rosfinmonitoring, Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Units of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS member states and the CSTO Secretariat.
At the opening of the Coordination Council meeting, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alenov B.T. made a welcoming speech, he emphasized the role of the CSTO CCBCD in the development and implementation of a coordinated strategy and joint measures of the anti-drug fight in the CSTO area of responsibility.
Then the floor was given to B.V. Yakovchenko, Secretary of the CSTO CCBCD, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, who noted that, taking into account the accumulated experience, the need to continue the practice of joint or coordinated anti-drug activities aimed at countering the drug threat.
The CSTO CCDBD format has established a mechanism for international cooperation on a multilateral basis, and mutual understanding and a high level of trust have been achieved between the competent authorities of states and their interested subdivisions.
The CSTO Deputy Secretary General Semerikov V.A. pointed out that in the conditions of rapidly changing military-political and criminal situation in the world, with a steady tendency to their aggravation, there was a difficult situation in the sphere of drug trafficking, both at the global level and in the zone of responsibility of our Organization, the drug problem was in the focus of constant attention of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
The meeting discussed the results of the activities of the Coordination Council of Heads of Competent Authorities for Countering the Illicit Drug Trafficking in 2024, and heard reports from the heads of competent bodies of the anti-drug agencies of the CSTO member states on the work done over the same period, including proposals for developing a consolidated position on cooperation in combating the global drug threat. The agenda included a number of issues related to countering illicit drug trafficking and the functional scope of the CSTO's activities.
After substantive and interested discussions following the reports of the responsible persons on the agenda items, the outcome documents were signed.
