 "The issue of establishing dialogue and cooperation with the PRC is on the agenda of the CSTO. We believe that interaction should be based on universally recognized principles of international law, in accordance with the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as the CSTO Charter," he said.
 According to Zaynetdinov, the CSTO Secretariat welcomes the statement made by President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China during his talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 15. The Chinese leader expressed Beijing's intention to continue flexible and multifaceted cooperation with Russia and other CSTO countries in order to preserve security and stability in the region.
 On December 15, the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping had a video conference. Yuri Ushakov, Assistant to the Russian President, told reporters that the conversation between the two heads of state lasted about an hour and a half. According to him, the Russian and Chinese leaders discussed "literally all urgent and important problems" - from security guarantees for Moscow in Europe to the creation of new alliances in the Asia-Pacific region.
