The UN expects joint work on anti-terror with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was stated by the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council at a high level chaired by the Russian Federation.

"I hope for our cooperation to work together to eradicate terrorism and build a safer future for all," he said.

Guterres noted that this cooperation is deepening and includes an increasing number of issues. Among these new challenges, he called cyber terrorism. "The use of social networks, the shadow Internet to coordinate attacks, propaganda of extremism and the appeal of new followers," he listed.
