In the Republic of Tajikistan, during the CSTO trainings “Indestructible Brotherhood-2025” and “Barrier-2025,” a decision was made to conduct a peacekeeping operation 22.10.2025

Today in the Republic of Tajikistan, at the “Fakhrabad” training ground, during joint training with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood-2025” and special training with the joint formation of CSTO NBC protection and medical support “Barrier-2025” Colonel Rustam Khotamzoda, Commander of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces and representative of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, reported the Decision to conduct a peacekeeping operation on the territory of a simulated CSTO member state.

Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, took part in the hearing.

The Decision defines the areas of focus for the main efforts, the tasks for peacekeeping units, and issues of cooperation, comprehensive support, and management.

After the Decision was approved, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces Command began planning the operation and organizing coordination.

Subunits of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces began practicing combat training tasks at checkpoints, roadblocks, and refugee reception points, escorting convoys and cargo, and providing humanitarian assistance.

According to the training legend, the Collective Peacekeeping Forces, in accordance with the Decision of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO, carry out tasks to maintain the ceasefire between the conflicting parties. In the area of responsibility, the units carry out mobile and foot patrols, guard and reinforce checkpoints, roadblocks, refugee reception points, clear explosive devices, escort and deliver humanitarian cargo, evacuate civilians, and provide medical assistance.  In addition, the peacekeepers ensure compliance with the terms of the truce.

During one of the training stages, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces practiced repelling an attack on a checkpoint and blocking a simulated enemy.

The personnel of the Peacekeeping Forces checkpoint were subjected to an armed “attack” by unknown individuals. Belarusian and Russian servicemen engaged in fire contact with the attackers and repelled the armed attack.  Unmanned aerial vehicle operators identified the retreat routes of the simulated “enemy.”

A unit of peacekeepers surrounded the "enemy" and blocked it. The rapid reaction group detained a detachment of an illegal armed group.

From October 20 to 24, the Republic of Tajikistan is hosting the active phase of the joint training with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces, “Indestructible Brotherhood-2025,” at the “Fakhrabad” training ground, during which issues related to the preparation and conduct of peacekeeping operations on the territory of a member state of the Organization are being worked out.

For the first time, a special training is being conducted as part of the peacekeeping training with the joint formation of NBC protection and medical support for the CSTO “Barrier-2025.” In these trainings, the joint formation of NBC protection and medical support for the CSTO is operationally subordinate to the Commander of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces. The main task of the joint formation during the training is to ensure the biological safety of the coalition group of troops.

Military contingents from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, the Republic of Tajikistan, operational groups of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat are participating in the “Indestructible Brotherhood-2025” and “Barrier-2025” trainings. The Russian contingent is mainly made up of units from the 201st military base of the Central Military District, including mountain units, communications units, electronic warfare units, NBC protection units, medical units, and unmanned aerial vehicle crews. The total number of participants in the trainings is about 1,500 people and more than 200 units of military and special equipment, including six helicopters and more than 20 UAVs.

The active phases of the CSTO trainings will be conducted in a combined format with the final stage of the joint anti-terrorism training of the competent authorities of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, “Anti-Terror 2025.”
