On September 4, 2026, consultations on “Coordinating the positions of CSTO member states on the agenda of the UN General Assembly” were held in Moscow in accordance with the Plan of Consultations of Representatives of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States on Foreign Policy, Security and Defense for 2025–2027.
The parties noted that their approaches were similar or coincided on the majority of issues on the agenda of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. It was noted that the United Nations has been and remains a system-forming factor in international relations and an important instrument for maintaining international peace and security. The parties reaffirmed the need to fully restore the standing and authority of the United Nations and its central coordinating role in international affairs with a view to shaping a truly just world order based on the UN Charter and other universally recognized norms of international law.
The importance of enhancing information exchange among the relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states was emphasized.
The parties agreed to hold the next round of consultations in 2027.
